Department of Sports and Physical Education:

    • Mission:

    1. To create awareness of physical activities in day to day life
    2. To develop moral values through Sports and games
    3. To enable students to create positive attitude towards life
    4. To encourage for regular physical activities
    5. To promote cooperation in life

    Objectives :

    1. To make and create awareness about physical activities in regular life
    2. To develop and inculcate moral values among students
    3. . To create positive attitude through sport and games
    4. To create awareness about regular physical activities in students
    5. To develop cooperation in every ones life.

    History of the Department:

             Department of sports and Physical Education started in 1972-73 at UG level in Shivaji University. In the same year it was established in Balasaheb Desai College, Patan dist. Satara, Maharashtra. It was for all for to develop sports and physical education among students of college as well as in society. Regular activities named Motor abilities and games and sports were developing through department. It comes under support services.

             Our department organized different type of tournaments like Patan Taluka Wrestling, Satara zonal wrestling(Free style and Greco Roman), Satara Zonal Badminton, Table Tennis ,Shivaji university weight lifting, Best Physique, Body Building, Chess etc. College players played for different level such as Zonal, Inter zonal, and Inter University, All India and International level and win prizes. Department organizes regular practice and Fitness programs and celebrates national and State Sports day regularly
