History of the Department:
The Department of Commerce is one of the major departments in the institute. It was established in 1972 and offers both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs. The PG department was started in 2008.
The department has two full-time sanctioned post and have well-qualified teaching faculty who are continuously involved in research work. One of the faculty members, Dr. S.V. More, served as I/C Principal from March 1, 2012, to April 10, 2014.
Throughout the year, the department conducts various activities such as Guest Lectures, Wallpaper Presentations, Bank Visits, Study Tour, Seminars, Projects etc. Additionally, it offers short-term courses like the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), E-Banking, and Digital Marketing.
